As Your Therapist
Peter has had over 10 years experience in Counselling. His down to earth, relatable and professional approach to his passion provides a non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable to explore any area. Peter appreciates that life can get complicated and, often, we can further complicate things when we attempt to self manage, self soothe and self medicate. All too often we can be too harsh on ourselves and place unrealistic expectations that cause further turmoil. Having the right Counsellor to help you navigate life’s complications and challenges can be a game changer in your state of wellbeing.
Peter is actively involved in multiple mental health outreach projects and is always on the pulse with current issues and research. In therapy, he draws upon his experience and training in the Cognitive, Behavioural & Acceptance Commitment practices that harnesses a humanistic and existential approach. Pete is passionate about adding value to the lives of others. As a therapist, he has practiced this ethos in the public & private sectors, hospitals, NSW education system and community services - working closely with youths, adult mental health concerns, men’s issues, refugees, and those battling substance dependence.
If you are experiencing - personal crisis, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship concern, personality disorder, or addiction - as your therapist, Pete will meet you where you’re at. He takes into account your experience of previous therapy and will always value the trust that you place in him. Often we intend to seek professional support but become deterred and talk ourselves out of it. It’s never to late to start a new chapter and change the course and direction of your life story. Call or message Pete to explore how his practical and insightful approach to therapy can lead you to living a more intentional and fulfilling life.
Coaching, Personal & Professional Development
When it comes to Personal Growth & Professional Development, Peter is highly attuned to the fundamental mechanics of our human nature. He understands the innate instinct for self-exploration and testing one’s boundaries. Often however, it’s the doubtful, self-judgemental, inner critic’s voice that prevents us from tapping into the potential and curious nature of the self-explorer.
For Peter, this is an opportunity to devote his skill set and experience in a way that adds value to your career or life direction. As for you, let Peter draw upon his training, knowledge and passion to provide you with perspective and insight that could potentially transform your life/career trajectory. Whether for your personal growth, self-awareness or professional development, Peter appreciates that there is no one size fits all to coaching. He draws upon a breadth of experience and the latest evidence-based practices to customise a forward thinking, clear pathway that suits your personal agenda and developmental goals.
Pete harnesses his training in the Behavioural Activation & Acceptance Commitment Therapies, which model the cognitive, behavioural and mindfulness principles for building psychological flexibility and workable action. The idea here is that we can confidently identify the thinking patterns, feelings and behaviours that inhibit our emotional growth and ability to adapt. Furthermore, you will gain a greater confidence in learning how to constructively and effectively respond to these challenges when they arise. In so doing, you’ll find it easier to navigate your thoughts with greater clarity of vision and direction.
